To get the 3D scale look, I took an old loofah (those puffy bath sponges, just google it if you don't know what it is) and painted it with acrylic paint. I chose black, but you can paint it however you want. Cut it into a small piece that fits the nail, and place it over wet base coat. Trim the parts that hang off the nail with a nail clipper. I topped it off with one coat of Seche Vite, and the a coat of matte topcoat. You can choose how much to stretch the loofah, which changes how the design looks. My pointer and middle finger are more stretched out (which I prefer) than my ring and pinky fingers.
