Happy New Year's Eve and New Year to everyone! I'm looking forward to a fabulous year to come! I painted 2015 using a firework background for the 2, a vintage-y clock for the 0, a calendar for the 1, and the Times Square ball drop for the 5. Lots of sparkles involved.

A neutral color and a bright neon shouldn't mix, but they do! Inspired by some sandals I own (click "Read More" to see a picture of the shoes).
Simple polka dots that change from dark to light purple. The base color was hard to photograph, but I tried to show it at different angles to capture the full duo chrome effect of it. Click "Read More" to see these!
Awww, no more festive Christmas designs. That's okay, when in doubt, I always go for the random swirls. So classy yet fun, simple yet intricate. Dang, what a paradox.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, y'all! Quick post before I go and enjoy my Christmas: this snowflakes on gradient is one of my favorite designs of this winter. I love the whole "no two snowflakes are alike" concept.
Merry Christmas Eve to everyone, hope it's filled with lots of family, friends, food, and festivities!
First time using a charm on my nails! This reminds me of the the angel tree toppers. Not sure how I feel about this one. It didn't turn out like I imagined it in my head, but it's still mildly cute in a really cheesy way ... right?
I love how simple and classy this is. It's discretely festive without going over the top Christmas themed... not that I'm not a fan of that as well. I also liked how these photographed. Success!
I love the white glitter-like top coat so much, its so snowy and beautiful. Shout out to Sarah for being awesome and gifting it to me!
I feel like I could have been way more precise and neat on the penguin , but I did it in a rush. Oh well, they still turned out alright, although the penguins beak doesn't look proportional. It looked better in person, I swear. These turned out so much better than I was expecting! I absolutely love them... very discretely holiday themed. Also, let's take note: two posts in one day. It's a Christmas miracle of winter break.
My winter break has officially started! It's so relieving to be done with exams and have a break from school... and I will have time to paint my nails more often, of course! I was missing the bright colors of summer, so I decided a hot pink was in order. I attempted to make it more winter-y with a Santa hat and a winter wonderland background for my flamingo accent.
These were supposed to be Christmas ornaments, but my brother could not tell me what they looked like for the life of him, so I don't know how well that comes across. I consider this a little bit of a fail, but hopefully somebody likes it and/or appreciates my effort.
I feel like my photography does not do this justice; it's even cuter in person. The cold always gets me in the mood for plaids and flannels, and I thought putting a Christmas colored twist on it would be fun. Also, I wanted to try out the new polishes I picked up in my December shopping trip, so this let me incorporate a lot of the colors.
I am so happy with how these turned out, even though they are way more gothic and abstract looking than I originally intended. They were supposed to be half of a snowflake just at the tip, so hopefully that comes across. Maybe I'm a cheese ball, but these remind me of some kind of a magical winter wonderland.
My middle finger features Rice University's mascot, Sammy the Owl, and the chevrons were inspired by their crest. The colors are their school colors, obviously.
I made the switch to an actual camera, as opposed to the phone camera on my Samsung Galaxy S3 I had been using before. It's a little more work and not as convenient, but the quality of the photos make it so worth it! Also changed my watermark... all these changes, wow! Also making use of the "Read More" function, as seen below. ;) Longer posts and bigger pictures, without cluttering the Nail Art page, yay!
The holiday season really puts me in a shimmery mood!
